The world's oldest fish Embuskan last breath at age 90 years


A fish that has captivated Australia lung visitors the Chicago Shedd Aquarium for more than 80 years finally dieutanasia. Fish length 1.2 metres and weighing 11 kilograms of it began to stop eating and shows signs of organ failure.

After dieutanasia on Sunday, the autopsy on the animal to find consistent conditions commonly experienced by living beings with advanced age.


The age of these lung fish can not dipastian. But its age is believed to be in the mid-90 's years. The Aquarium itself acquire the lung fish during the expedition in 1933.

Since then, an estimated more than 104 million people came to see the lung fish for more than eight decades.

right lung is a protected species in Australia and can live to the age of 100 years. The species has existed for more than 38 million years and did not experience the evolution over the past 100 million years.
